      Drinks & Cocktails

      Vegan White Russians.

      22 August 2019

Tomorrow is my favourite day again - Friday! And with sweater weather slowly creeping in, what better time to switch that Friday G&T to something more creamy? Last week I was thinking of whipping up my fave Mint Chocolate & Hazelnut Cocktail, but, then I realised that I had all that I needed at home to make White Russians, so I did!

Or you know - my version of a White Russian, anyway. And by using a creamy oat milk that's supposed to be used for coffee - everyone can enjoy this cocktail, from vegans to lactose intolerants.

      Ingredients: serving one

      • 1 shot Frangelico
      • 1 shot Khalúa
      • 4 shots Oatly iKaffe
      • Decor, I used fresh raspberries here

      How to:
Add a handful of ice cubes to your cocktail shaker, pour in the Frangelico, Khalúa & oat milk and shake until you can feel the shaker become ice cold. Pour into a glass and fill to the top. Shaking for a while will "fluff" the oat milk and create a nice foam on top of the cocktail. Traditionally a White Russian isn't shaken, but I prefer it!

      My Home

The One Where I Became a Home Owner.

      15 August 2019

If you don’t flaunt a set of new keys to the world via an Instagram boomerang - did you really buy a new home these days? Jokes aside - yes, I signed some papers, gave away my €€€ and became a home owner this Spring!

Okay, so technically I'd been "half" a home owner for quite a while. Since I bought a new build and have been signing papers in different stages since the middle of 2018. The many months leading up to the moving in date consisted of driving by the building site like a creep to say hi to the house and check on the progression - and desperately trying not to buy all the interior things before the place even had walls. And creating endless Pinterest inspiration boards along the way, of course. Let me tell ya, it's been quite the build up before I finally stood there with "keys in hand".

Still, to this day, as I sit here on my little navy velvet couch (how millennial, ey?), almost five months in, I cannot believe all my hard work payed off. A brand new chapter of my life is in the midst of being written.

It took up to now for me to have all of the finishing touches ready. But, really, are you ever finished in a home?

I'm excited to start sharing some interior posts on here, I love reading and seeing those myself (especially now since I bought my own place!) and who isn't curious about how people's homes look like, right?

      Stay tuned!

A Sunny Day Trip Out to the Koster Islands.

      10 August 2019

My favourite part of the world is (as you probably know by now) the Swedish west coast, more specifically; Bohuslän. And while I say that, I also need to add that there are a surprising amount of places I have yet to see up there. Why? My family has a holiday home up on the coast - meaning; I've spent all of my summers growing up there, and actually most of my vacations and many weekends as an adult, too. So, being there in my little safe haven has made me very knowledgable about my specific little village and it's surroundings, but surprisingly (and embarrassingly) unaware of the rest.

Lucky me that my friend has been working up in Strömstad this summer, so I had the best excuse to drive up there and visit & explore. Two birds, one stone - don't you just love those?

      Koster Islands

In the late hours of Saturday morning we got on a ferry from Strömstad harbour and arrived at the Koster Islands about 40 minutes later. So far away, yet so very close. It all feels the same out there, but somehow also very different. It's like any sort of stress can't reach you, and your heart rate kind of drops - in the best possible way. The lack of cars make the roads on the islands so peaceful and manageable for walking. Look out for bikes though, that's most people's chosen means of transportation out there, except for the odd moped roaming by.

The Koster Islands are two islands very close together - the South and North island. We got off the ferry at the North one and strolled around for a bit, before we got on the tiniest of line ferries over the canal to the South island.

      Lunch at Kosters Trädgårdar

Just as we arrived on the South island we could feel our tummies rumbling so we made our way straight to Kosters Trädgårdar (Koster Gardens) and enjoyed a lovely lunch. The sallads looked good upon arrival but as soon as we dug into them we realised they weren't good - they were amazing. We just sat there the both of us and said "wow!". So much juicy flavour and goodness in there that we repeated the "oh, it's so good" and "wow"s again and again throughout the meal. The fact that all salads are made with veggies and herbs grown in their gardens next to the little restaurant makes it taste extra good, of course.

A few hours later we got on the ferry back to the main land, and this time we managed to get up on the roof and could see the entire archipelago infront of us. Nice, huh?
